Balloon across the field
Coming home from our afternoon ride, we saw a balloon apparently being deflated across a field near Huntington Road.
Balloon nearly inflated
Having decided to ride up the hill along Woodlawn to Huntington to see what was going on, we discovered it was in fact being inflated.
In the air!
We raced up to Sylvia Heights, which ends where the balloon was being inflated. I got there just after it had taken off and snapped this photo while still riding.
A little higher up
I still hadn't come to a complete stop when taking this one.
It was moving fast!
Back on Huntington
By this point the balloon was near our house, but we were still far away. We rode back to Huntington, where I took this shot. The balloon looked as if it was going to sink down on the southern slope of Mount Warner.
By the time we rode back to Mount Warner Road, the pilot had caught an updraft and was wafting north over the hill. I thought about chasing it for a while, but I did have some work still to do.
